Breakout Session: Accelerating Trends in Cold Storage
A recent CBRE report suggested that an additional 75 to 100 million square feet of industrial freezer/cooler space will be needed to meet the demand generated by online grocery sales in the next five years. Additionally, several U.S. markets were already being served by inefficient or functionally obsolete facilities, and the COVID-19 pandemic will likely accelerate this need for space. In this session, leaders in the cold- and temperature-controlled industry will discuss shifts in the U.S. cold chain, build-to-suits and how speculative cold storage projects are growing in the market. Learn what customers are asking for in a cold storage facility today and how they can they be designed and built to meet specific demands.
